Dr. Gatherwright will present 10 lower extremity cases utilizing NovoSorb® BTM and share his experience and lessons learned. He will outline his NovoSorb® BTM treatment methodology for complicated reconstructions over deep structures such as bone, tendon, nerves, and vessels to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Dr. Gatherwright will also compare applications of type III collagen and NovoSorb® BTM while drawing upon correlations from an indocyanine green (ICG) injection to assess perfusion of the wound bed, for evaluation of successful take of a STSG as a final closure method.
Dr. Gatherwright specializes in plastic and reconstructive microsurgery, including upper and lower extremity injuries. He completed his medical education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, including an Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency. He also completed a microsurgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Gatherwright is active in both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
