A/Prof Chris Delaney is a Vascular Surgeon and Research Lead in the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Flinders Medical Centre, South Australia. His PhD was centered around an RCT investigating the clinical, systemic and local biological responses to exercise in patients with PAD. He has published 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 1 book chapter and acts as a reviewer for multiple international cardiovascular journals.
Clinically, A/Prof Delaney is passionate about advancement in the management of peripheral arterial disease and complex wounds. This translates into his research areas of interest which include: Vascular calcification and plaque morphology; vascular restenosis and neo-intimal hyperplasia; the role of nutrition in vascular surgery and strategies to augment the complex wound environment. He currently supervises multiple research higher degree students who are undertaking studies in these areas.
