Use of NovoSorb BTM for Complex Reconstruction of the Hand and Extremities

Shaun D. Mendenhall, M.D. will present on his early experience with BTM in a variety of challenging indications. Throughout the presentation he will share insight into his complex wound techniques with BTM using case examples involving necrotizing fasciitis, synovial sarcoma resection, and skin necrosis.

Dr Mendenhall is a board certified plastic surgeon, focusing on hand and wrist surgery, nerve surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery. He completed his medical degree at the University of Utah, his residency in integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery at Southern Illinois University, and his fellowship in orthopaedic hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his fellowship Dr Mendenhall returned to University of Utah as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and an Associate Program Director for the residency program.

He is an active member of several professional medical associations including; American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). He is highly published in numerous peer-reviewed journals on the topics of hand and upper extremity transplantation, breast reconstruction and dermal matrices. He is regularly invited to speak at both international and national conferences.
